By Sophie Kinsella
During my most recent trip to New York, I picked up this book. I have always known Sophie Kinsella for her Shopaholic series and some of her other books such as The Undomestic Goddess and Twenties Girl, but this book was much different. Most of the books she writes are a lot more chic-flick inspired, and that’s the types of books I enjoy the most (I fully admit it!), but it was nice to pick up a book that was not.
The synopsis of this book is a little misleading but the ending of the book is not what you think it is. The main character, Audrey, is an inspirational character and you step behind in her eyes (and her camera!) to see her progression.
*SPOILER ALERT: I loved that she acknowledges the fact that progression requires both time and effort. Improvement doesn’t happen in a linear line but one that goes up and down.
I highly recommend this book and it has inspired me to continue looking at life through this scope. Positivity outweighs the negativity in the world, but by concentrating on the positive do we continue to progress in life.
